A Post in between The Power of the Written Word I have seen - TopicsExpress

A Post in between The Power of the Written Word I have seen people disdain the written word of God under the caption the letter kills. Now, thats a misconception because reading that phrase in context, the letter refers to the Old Covenant and its mode of operation. Lets see that portion of scripture - 2 Cor 3:6; who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. To disdain scriptures and call it lifeless is a big error because ALL scripture is given by the inspiration of God. The scriptures are inspired by the Spirit! (2 Tim.3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21). You may pick a magazine and come across an erotic content that may ruin your whole day. Even occult men put their messages in books and anyone who reads is influenced greatly. My Dad once had to minister to a young man who while reading some books literally ran mad. Just reading! If the words of men written on paper have such activeness to influence, how much more the word of God?! We can say the written word is not USEFUL to us until we read it (just like every other thing), but never say its lifeless! If its lifeless, who then will give life to it? Contact with scriptures is contact with Gods active power! Lives are still being changed! Read your bible #HowGodsWordWorks
