A Prayer About And For All Soldiers Around About Our World Dear God I feel very sorry for soldiers around our world, as they often suffer great danger and hardships and are involved in a very difficult task. Dear God I pray you will be merciful to them, and therewith I pray you would be especially merciful to all those who suffer hardships seeking to do well. Dear God I want to praise or esteem as faulty, all soldiers around our world accordingly as you praise or esteem each soldier. Dear God, I certainly know you ordained the governments and soldiers of this world to help provide safety and order in this world, and that we are thus to give them due reverence and obedience. Yet I also know you are so sovereign you can use quite ungodly kings, nations, and soldiers to perform your cause, and can use a political system very much lacking your real Holiness to help control our world of which Apostle John says it lies in wickedness. I further know your most Holy ways are not mans ways, but are higher than mans ways as are the heavens above the earth, and thus regarding honoring soldiers who often grievously slay one another, I have much reason to wonder how and which soldiers I really should honor and praise. Oh God is your real honor showered upon the soldiers of one particular earthly nation, or certain earthly nations, or soldiers of most all nations, or is your real honor in reality mostly showered upon soldiers of your Son, Jesus Christ, being those who keenly follow and suffer for Him. Dear God we all know that every nation tends to honor their own soldiers, but which soldiers do you really honor and thus your children should likewise honor? Dear God, I know Jeremiah 48:10 states that cursed is he that keepeth back his sword from blood, yet I also know that Jesus said that every scribe instructed unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old, and also said that if His Kingdom where of this world His servants would fight to not be delivered to the Jews, and said BUT NOW His Kingdom was not from hence. Further I know your Son also taught His disciples that if they were persecuted in one city to flee to the other, and which they did, and further therewith most all Jesus 12 disciples died at the hand of persecutors without taking up a sword or revenge. Although they as good men, died such unjust deaths, I thank you God you often miraculously protected them while they lived, and further at their end gave them such courage they thought it a privilege to die as special soldiers for you. Dear God I also know Jesus speaking to Peter told him to put back his sword into its place for all those who take the sword shall perish with it, and with the same message being echoed in Rev 13:10. Dear God, as I consider these things and search out many other New Testament teachings of your Son and Word regarding the sword and showing love, help me to understand how I should relate to all soldiers about our world, as I seek honor and esteem soldiers as you want me to, and seek to be your soldier as well.
