A Prayer for Bangladesh 27 October 2014 O merciful God, we pray for 17-month-old Akash, an orphan lying listless in his aunt’s lap in a rural village in northwest Bangladesh. Earlier this year, while his mother was dying of tuberculosis and unable to care for him, he became severely malnourished; and he has not improved since his aunt and uncle began to care for him. Lord, look upon Akash and help him receive the food, medicines, and close attention he needs to recover from his weakened and fragile state. By your grace and tender mercy, help him to live.
