A Prayer for this morning, as our neighborhood is disrupted by tragedy: Gracious God, we do not know the circumstances, but a life has been lost, and the police are present in our neighborhood. In these moments of disruption to our routine, remind us that life is precious, a gift of pure grace from your heart. Grant your peace and comfort to those who are facing loss; let the departed one rest in peace; and encourage first responders and investigators as they do their work. Let our hearts never forget that every one is a beloved child of your heart; no matter the circumstances of life and death, we all belong to you. Amen.
