A REASON ABLE PRICE the biggest challenge for Aliamu is to make a unique bags 100% hand and heart made with a reason able price . alilamu products are reason able expensive , meaning that they are expensive for a good reason. Our main material is the old sail that fishermen use for their dhow (boat) , in Swahili we call it TANGA. The material we use is recycle and limited , we do not buy it in a shop, but we are always on the move searching for it . Sometime out of one tanga we can make one bag or two only because the rest is not strong enough ……depending on how many years the sail has been traveling and how many raining season did it go through. sometimes it takes weeks for the tanga to reach the workshop…. To make one Alilamu bag involve a minimum of 7 people , 1/the one who search for the material, 2/the one washing the whole sail before starting to use it . 3/the one cutting it and putting it together 4/the one designing it and painting it, all our design are done by hand. 5/the one stitching it all by hand 6/ the one making the handle with a recycle rope or new rope . 7/ the one in charge of washing it and iron it . Alilamu is a big recycle family, we all respect an help each other , we work very hard but with no rush or stress……NO STRESS NO MESS , HARAKA HARAKA ACUNA BARAKA …..(hurry hurry has no blessing ) We do not follow the time but we focus on quality and creation instead…TIME IS MONEY BUT QUALITY IS LOVE , …follow your star ! the atmosphere in the workshop 99% of the time is very good and positive , we all love what we do and try always our best ….more we can’t ! Alilamu started with 2 person , Ali and Daniela , and today we are …sooo many working full time or on a piece work base , more orders we receive more people will have a job, and if a man has a job , he will be able to feed his family and send his children to school and take care of his parents …..and more happy faces we will have around this world…….. Our project it is not an act of charity but a local business that is dealing with mostly fishermen, their wife and children and others who struggle to survive without a job. Nothing is for free here , we all work very hard to get what we get , and our promise is that none of us will become rich , but more and more will not be poor 100% Alilamu ..it is time , wake up and love , together we can.
