A RIBBON-CUTTING ceremony was recently held for the new weight room at Vineland High School South. The 4,300 square-foot structure is located at the end of the schools A or west wing adjacent to the athletic department offices, gymnasium and wrestling training area. There are 30 pieces of exercise equipment in the room, arranged by the category of training. The new Fighting Clan logo is visible on the walls, floor tile and even emblazoned on some of the equipment. A sound system provides background music for the athletes in training, and a large flat-screen TV provides motivational videos and sports TV broadcasts. At the east end of the room is an elevated scorers table that will be used for doing paperwork and also recording sports talk shows for VPS TV.
