A Rare Rant For the Day: Caving in building buzzer and intercom system being repaired after going around with association board and consultant for several weeks on it.. Three people cant be wrong about a broken buzzer and intercom system the three of us troubleshooted before I fired off an emal about it so wouldnt come back with the usual your unit, your problem, board not responsible. The board did not disappoint and responded with usual expected your unit your problem response, saw red, and not about to take Gardners, the rest of the board, and Lefferts crap any more. Two other people and I , who worked together on it, are right about the whole thing; and I personally talked to two others with the same buzzer and intercom problem. First repair guy had no idea what he was doing, put two missing screws in top to keep the top of unit secure, and declared it repaired despite none answered a lobby buzzer not sounding off in units can hear with front lobby door open when system is working correctly and cant respond to something never heard in unit...nobody around, tree fell, nobody heard it fall. That fired off two more emails from me, one stressing danger to life in emergency situation where our citys finest just might have to bust or axe front entrance door open due to a non-functioning buzzer and intercom system and just too sick or dieing to stand by the door to let them in nor waiting for someone with a master key options to use. Todays testing proved everything I have been writing about for at least 2 weeks in emails and one snarling call to condo board;s dont bother me call line with answering service we owners pay monthly to AT&T through our dues., Today got someone else who knows their business, located and repaired the buzzer problem in short order. He buzzed my unit loud and clear, responded and then he knocked on my door, looked at my unit, got the brand and model written down had already thoroughly researched :; tried to say my speaker had a problem because sounded a little grainy from lobby and know cant understand anyone else talking to lobby and told him dont think so. Then we both went to front lobby door where I noticed everything was put back together as it should be and asked him to press every unit button you can hear with lobby door open, Linda upstairs answered and crackle crackle speaker, brrrrkkk, couldnt understand what she was saying and walked out of her unit to see what was going on, and proved it was Memorex, not us, and the board is oh so wrong again. The repairman will talk to Lefferts and get the system fixed.with the problem stemming from the lobby unit..ours work fine.
