A Replica of the plaque gifted to Dalkeith’s governing body by - TopicsExpress

A Replica of the plaque gifted to Dalkeith’s governing body by the Mushet Iron Foundry to mark the centenary of the birth of Robert Burns in 1859. This one recently went for only $434 on ebay. I wonder who the lucky person was who bought it? The Dalkeith one is now with the Dalkeith History Society having been returned to the society from the Masons who had it on loan. The Dalkeith one (shown on the right) was photographed for DBM by Jean Robertson Burnett about 1 year ago. With all this amazing Burns-related history and DBM now over one year old, we need to ensure this monument is restored and repositioned. It would be just fantastic if people visiting Dalkeith added the Dalkeiths Burns Monument to their list of historic places and things to visit, learn about and photograph.
