A Rustic Wedding Cake for our wedding this past Saturday. Dark clouds, lots of rain, cake in cake out but it all went great. Since we finish all of our food on sight my sous chef had to pull both cook stoves under our food staging tent to keep everything moving forward. Fresh pan seared Chilean Sea Bass with a fresh ginger lemon cream sauce finished with a mango salsa, Herb Encrusted Prime Rib carving station, freshly assorted mixed grilled vegetables, garlic herb roasted red new potatoes, rustic breads and butter and a delicious salad was the awesome menu offered to their guests. Rain and all we pulled it off. The bride was stunning and the groom handsome as ever. They are a great couple. With all the rain, moving of BBQS, cook stoves time just slipped by until I said I needed a picture of the cake my pastry chef made for the couple. Top layer-German chocolate, middle layer-white cake with fresh strawberries and vanilla buttercream frosting and the base cake was a fresh blueberry lemon cake filled with lemon curd-yum! A new experience for us-we were singing and cooking in the rain:)
