A SCHOOL CHILD AGAIN RECOVERS A PIECE OF IVORY Mark Lesamana, a Lorubae Primary School pupil who earlier discovered a carcass of a dead elephant calf at Lentaragwet near Samburu NR/Kalama Conservancy border, again recovered a piece of ivory perhaps broken from a bull when fighting. He found the piece when he was grazing his animals over the weekend. He delivered to his teachers who called upon Save the Elephants and Osotua Wildlife Foundation to recover the trophy. We informed the KWS authorities but they are out in the field. The piece has been surrendered to Samburu NR Game Rangers for safe custody after which it will be deposited tomorrow with KWS. The event took place late in the evening when the child already left but once he is back in the morning he will be decorated after which the KWS will be issued with the piece. This being the second time, this child deserves a better present perhaps full scholarship which is already the talk.
