A San Antonio woman whose two dogs allegedly killed her elderly neighbor earlier this year is now facing a felony charge. Perla Rojas, 34, was indicted Nov. 24 on a charge of a dangerous dog attack leading to death, according to court records. If convicted of the second-degree felony, she could face up to 20 years in prison. Rojas had been identified in past Express-News articles as Perla Rojas-Ibarra. The neighbor, Petra Aguirre, was feeding her cats on March 31 in the backyard of her home on the 900 block of Southwest 38th Street when two of Rojas’ dogs crawled under the fence and attacked her, authorities and Aguirre’s family have said. Aguirre died about two weeks later at University Hospital, just shy of her 84th birthday. She was found mauled “from her scalp to her toes,” her family said earlier this year. The two dogs were identified by Animal Care Services as Bebe and Skirtgles, both female American Staffordshire terrier mixes, which are often called pit bulls. Both dogs were euthanized. See More :
