A Shore Drive etiquette question. Ive only been bicycling since 2/13. Shore Drive consumes most of my training rides. Usually after a rainstorm, debris is left on parts of the bikelane/shoulder. On Monday, while I was going west on Shore Drive about a 1/2 mile past the light on Atlantic, I heard someone from behind me yell, on your left. I happened to be going around 18 mph and really couldnt go over to the left without running over road debris from the rainstorm. I hand signaled him to pass..but..he kept on yelling, on your left. He could of passed me by going into the street since there was no traffic...but...he insisted I go left into the debris. Question I have is: what should I have done if I couldnt go anymore left because of road debris? btw...as he passed, I yelled on your wheel and stuck to him all the way up to Great Neck. (pissed me off...lol)
