A Split-second Friendship . . . from a Split-second - TopicsExpress

A Split-second Friendship . . . from a Split-second Decision. (Go to new Kroger’s, or go on home?) So Im making my second round to the Ice Cream section at the new Krogers . . . when Im confronted with this hard to swallow reality . . . The Mint Chocolate Chip . . . WAS GONE . . . along with many of the other flavors on the top two rows! Damn I thought (and might have mumbled). Here theyre giving away these cartons of Mayfields Ice Cream at end of the world prices, and Ive missed it! No use crying over spilled milk right? So I look at my other options. You’ve got the bland chocolates and vanillas, the seductive, yet dangerous, triple chocolates with chocolate . . . in the chocolate, and then you’ve got those that “MIGHT” be better than Mint Chocolate Chip. So me and my “indecisive” ways are checking out the endless possibilities of flavors of Mayfield’s Ice Cream (with the $1.99 price tag) . . . when I start to notice the man next to me. He’s been standing here for every bit as long as I have. I start to get a little embarrassed by my lack of confidence when it comes to picking out “my second favorite” flavor of Ice Cream. The missing top two rows had me compromised no doubt, but surely I can make up my mind out of what’s here . . . Side Note: In a perfect world . . . theres no need for second favorites. What seems like 5 minutes later . . . I decide to go ahead and break the ice with the guy standing next to me . . . gazing at the Ice Cream with as much focus as I am. Maybe if I can get him to confess his indecisiveness . . . we can just laugh it off, and possibly . . . help each other through this troubling time. lol I go ahead and speak what comes to mind. “You either work here . . . or you’re just as indecisive as I am”. “Oh I’m with Mayfield! Everything was going alright until the fans went out on the top two rows” “Fans went out?!” I said. “Yeah”, he said, “We had to move the Ice Cream Out”. (Realizing that there was still a possibility of getting my flavor) “Where’d it get moved to”? “Down at the end of the isle I think. What are you looking for”, he asked. “Mint Chocolate Chip” We then proceeded to the missing stash of ice cream at the end of the isle . . . where I found the mint chocolate chip, along with a slew of other flavors. “Do I really want Mint Chocolate Chip”? Sorry for any errors. Humor, a busy life, and reliving moments . . . don’t always get along Happy Sunday
