A Swift Kick in the Past: In a desert in New Mexico, the history of the world and world conflicts changed forever. The United States had successfully tested the first atomic bomb ever in Almogordo, New Mexico. The tower from which the bomb was released was completely vaporized by the explosion. Now, the question was how long could the bomb be kept secret and on which enemy country would it be used. Germany or Japan. The war with Germany ended leaving only one answer to President Harry S Truman - Japan. This happened on this day in 1945.
