A TALE OF TWO BIBLES! (Simultaneously posted at the Servants Heart Healing Ministries Facebook page). Several months back, while ministering at the Jackson County Jail, an inmate was begging for a study Bible. I had my black leather New King James, which I loved, and after much discussion with the Lord, I saw it His way and passed it on to the jailer. The next day, I was at Wal-mart, on the phone with a ministry partner, when a fellow minister-friend came up to me all excited. He said, Do you want a Dakes leather study Bible? Do I??? I thought, Sure, I told him. He went on to explain that hed ordered it but didnt want it for some reason and that I could have it for $35 (not that $35 was a bad price for a Dakes Bible, much less leather-bound). Alas, I said, No, thank you as I couldnt justify the expense. I was a little dejected, thinking God was presenting me with the opportunity to be restored. Fast forward to earlier last week. I was just finishing up at a friends home for Bible study when I got a call: Could you come over and pray for so and so? Its urgent. I was a little more than a half a mile away. Sure, I said. After I prayed with the woman, her stepson, and his father, something amazing happened. The man said, Wait--dont go yet--I have something for you. Actually, he came back with THREE boxes--all different versions of a Dakes Study Bible--free to me! It was difficult, but I finally made my grateful selection--a red-leather edition. I just looked it up on Amazon today. Grant it, its not the large print, but you get the idea. God is so good, and its so gratifying to see Him use other Godly people to bless yet others that do His bidding.
