A TRIBUTE TO GUS My most favorite actor is Robert Duvall. The series Lonesome Dove was one of the most accurate westerns ever done. I am fortunate that I have become friends with Mr. Duvall after he attended one of my clinics in Maryland. I spent a week with him and his wife at their Plantation in Virginia helping him with his big, Sorrel, ex-rope horse. When Duvall aka Bobby came around the corner, ready to ride, he looked far from the image of Gus that was in my mind. Bobby was dressed in his britches and English attire. Far different from his iconic western characters, Mr. Duvall rode jumpers but also loves Cutting Horses and the West. Thank you Robert for keeping the West alive.
