A Test of Faith Tuesday the 11th March Paul Ross Two days - TopicsExpress

A Test of Faith Tuesday the 11th March Paul Ross Two days before I was due to leave Manila, Malaysia airlines had a major disaster in which 239 lives perished over Vietnam waters on a route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing so I was already feeling a little nervous. I boarded my plane in Manila and two hours later we were asked to get off the plane due to mechanical problems in which the plane compass was inoperative which prohibited night time flight. We were put into the Manila Heritage Hotel for the night until our new departure at 9am Tuesday the 11th. After taking off - and 30 minutes into our journey to Kuala Lumpur - a problem was identified with the left wing of the plane in which a rubber strip was coming out leaving exposed the moving parts of the wing to clip each other with friction. I was the first and only passenger that knew about this problem due to the fact that my seat was 21A and that was the very exact window position that the protruding rubber could be seen coming loose. (I was originally on a different seat but I changed the seat online to 21A a day before the flight). Repeatedly the crew staff and captain of the flight periodically came to my very seat position to get the most perfect view of the problem through my window. When I asked the staff if we were going to land safely, they said they do not know and this is when I started to feel sick in my stomach. As I write this at 10:07 am Tuesday morning on flight MH803 I now have to put my whole trust in God as the captain of flight MH803 can not assure me that everything will be ok. Do I believe I will arrive safely? Yes I do- I do believe everything will be ok - in spite of this bad news. At present Im trying not to stare at this rubber coming out of the wing but the true test will be in landing. As it stands theyre not sure if they will return to Manila. I have taken a photo of the so called technical problem and Im amazed this was not checked before lift-off. Ive decided not to share this information with any other passengers as their fears will not add anything positive or productive. Everything will be ok, this is certain, and I will return
