A Tip for Interpreters *When you are doing consecutive interpreting with trainers or facilitators, make sure you understand the following tip: - Accuracy, facilitation of communication , faithfulness, preparedness and self-respect ARE our job. - Self-humiliation, excessive humour and jokes and sarcasm ARE NOT out job. They are the job of a clown. - Entertainment, escorting the client in the market for shopping or visiting tourist places ARE NOT our job. They are the job of the tourist driver or tourist guide (some jurisdictions penalize other people practising such roles) - Helping the presenters, lecturers, facilitators or attendees of an event in lifting their luggage or equipment IS NOT our job. It is the job of the logistics officer. - Doing written translation work in the event IS NOT our job. It is the job of a translator * There might be some exceptions of course.
