A ‘Tombstoning’ video released by the RNLI shows youngsters risking their lives jumping 35ft into shallow rocky waters from the Round Tower in Portsmouth, a notorious tombstoning hotspot. The RNLI has issued a safety plea after the footage was captured by a member of the public on a mobile phone. There have been 20 deaths and 76 serious injuries caused by tombstoning in the UK since 2005 according to the Maritime and Coastguard Agency.
