A Union Township couple were awaken by their family dog to smoke in the house and then found heavy fire in their attached garage. Everyone made it out safely and called 911. Engine 54 from the CUTFD was on scene within 7 minutes of the call and found the garage fully involved and fire extending into the house through the attic space. An aggressive interior attack was began. Crews were later pulled outside for safety due to the advanced nature of the fire and a partially collapsed roof, until the fire was brought under control. CUTFD personnel were assisted at the scene by Salem Twp FD, Richland Twp FD, Frankton FD, and the Yorktown FD. No injuries were reported.
