A University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez study revealed that Puerto Ricans have 27% African X-Chromosomes [female] and 20% Y-Chromosomes [male]. The African ancestry of Puerto Ricans is of Congolese [Bantu] origin. Less than 13% of Puerto Ricans identify as Black despite their African DNA. Only 5.1 [%] Cubans, 5.2 [%] Dominicans, and 5.5 [%] Puerto Ricans identify themselves as Black. CD The Journey (Narrated by Prof. Sanabria), WBAI-FM, 99.5 NYC, May 22, 2012.
