A VERY sad announcement - our good friend and comrade Csaba Polony (1944-2014) has passed. Csaba was the editor-publisher of Left Curve, one of our longest-lasting, most courageous and insightful alternative arts magazines. Its a sad day for those who care about progressive culture and criticism, and for his many friends in North Beach and around the world. Public Memorial - Wednesday March 26, 4PM North Beach. Program 4-6pm Ceremony, Emerald Tablet, 80 Fresno St. 6-7pm Art Opening of Csabas work, Focus Gallery, 1534 Grant Ave. 7pm(ish) Informal Reception, Specs Bar, 12 Saroyan Pl. Csaba - you were a thinker, a doer, a principled fearless progressive, an artist, a great supporter of others who create and struggle for justice, and a true friend. You brought me down safe when I flew too high above, and dragged me out when I fell deep into the quicksand. When I needed it most you reminded me of why life was worth living, and I will never forget you, my good comrade Csaba.
