A WISE MAN Therefore whosoever hears these sayings of Mine and does them, I will liken him to a wise man, which built his house upon a rock - Matthew 7:24-25 Gods definition of wisdom far outweighs mans description. He chooses the foolish things of this world to confound the wisdom of the wise (1 Cor. 1:27). There are two things a man will do that will make him wise before God. First is to become the doer of Gods word. We have plenty listeners in the church but only few practice what they have listened to. It is one thing to listen to great sermon, spirit filled messages or even go the length of taking down notes. But what matters most is the ability to utilize what youve heard. God will not justify a man for studying His word for hours, He will only approve him if he does them (Rom. 2:13). To be a doer of Gods word, ask for the wisdom of God. You cannot keep Gods law with your common sense. You also need the strength and power of the Holy Spirit to do them in difficult situations. Secondly, a wise man is one that is able to turn many into righteousness, either by soul winning or evangelism. You need the power and the wisdom from God to achieve it. Motivational or inspiring words cannot win souls. Are you a doer of Gods word or a great listener? Its time you move to practicing what youve heard. Its our core duty as believers to reach out to the word and disciple nations (Matt. 28:19-21). Do you win souls or you destroy them? Prayer: Father, give me the wisdom to win souls and the power to be the doer of Your words in Jesus name.
