A WORD TO THE BODY OF CHRIST!!! What is heaven saying? Read on ( RIP Dr.Myles Munroe) My sincere heartfelt condolence to the family of Gods General, Apostle of the 21st Century Church, Dr. Myles Munroe, members of Bahamas Faith Ministries International and the entire body of saints who are currently mourning one of the finest kingdom leaders and mentor who ever walked the earth. May the souls of those involved in this tragic plane crash, rest in the bosom of the Lord. RIP Dr. Myles Munroe. As I meditated all night on the events surrounding the sudden death of Gods servant, Dr. Myles Munroe, his wife and six others in his team, the Lord laid a message in my heart for the body of Christ. I hope you all would take time out of your busy schedule to read and ponder on this important message. 1) The work of the ministry is one of the most challenging assignments on the planet, especially those genuinely called by God to push boundaries created by human and religious traditions and to open new frontiers for the advancement of Gods kingdom on earth. Due to the risks, battles and attacks involved, every true servant of God who is a blessing to the body of Christ, deserves the effective, effectual and fervent prayers of the saints, not casual prayers. James 5:16-17. At times, people expect men and women of God to pray for them even when they need more prayers from those looking for prayers. There are outcomes, which can be altered through effective and fervent prayers of the saints. Read the scriptural text below keenly. Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vex certain of the church. And he killed James the brother of John with the sword. And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.). And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people. Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him. Acts 12:1-5 In the above text, Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vex the church and to achieve his aims; he killed James the brother of John with the sword. The scriptures say, And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. He apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people. However, in the case of Peter, the church rose up to the occasion. The scriptures say, but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him. We all know the result! God sent an angel to the prison, and he got Peter out, frustrating Herods plans... What was the difference in the case of James and Peter? There was a degree of complacency on the part of the church before James was killed; there was no account of any prayer support from the church for James, but the death of James awakened the church to their responsibility, and the outcome was different with Peter. Listen! Men and women of God are doing the most dangerous job in the entire world, even riskier than the job of firefighters because of the spiritual warfare involved. Despite this, it is really unfortunate that in most occasions, they are surrounded by people who pay them lip service, but dont really support them nor cover them in prayers. Pray for me! Pray for me! Pray for me! Is the call of many to the servants of God, but when it comes to the time when they servants of God need the saints, they often are alone. It happened in Gethsemane; when Jesus asked his Disciples to watch with him for an hour, they all fell asleep, and we know how Jesus travailed alone. I am speaking and weeping; at times, the Lord tells me, my servant, you dont have people praying for you, despite the claims on countless lips around the world of your impact in their lives. This is the global situation of the church. We call people our mentors and sources of inspiration because their lives and ministries inspire us, but we seldom pray for them nor genuinely support them. Some will leave one ministry to another simply because they dont want any responsibility. Lets be sincere, how many of us were praying for Dr.Myles Munroe? When a servant of God pours out himself to people, but gets no prayer cover or genuine support, at times, the Lord may allow the Herods to have their way in order to awaken the church and to call his servant home to rest. I am not saying my assertion depicts the incidence of the death of Dr.Myles Munroe, but as a leader, I see a great indifference among Gods people regarding those ministering to them. Gods people would want a Man or woman of God to die for them, but they are not ready to lay down their lives for those genuinely serving them. There was a time in the body of Christ, when it was normal for a Christian to pray all night and fast for his or her leader, but that is long gone. Everyone is looking for his or her interest except the interest of God. As we ponder on the sudden and tragic departure of our brother, mentor and Apostle of the 21st century church, lets ponder on how different the outcome would have been if we all in our millions were interceding for him daily; with this situation before us, lets do what the church did after James was killed by Herod. Lets return to praying aggressively for those the Lord has given us. We cant afford to lose any other General in the kingdom in such a manner. Shalom! DrBenard Etta
