A Walk in the Park. My apologies for the length of this post, but this mornings visit to the Art Show with Andy to do some therapy dog training was incredibly touching in so many ways. We met an elderly man who said I looked familiar. Turns out I had met him in the waiting room at Manchester Hospital and recalled wishing I had Ginger or Nutmeg with me at the time. Today this man got to pet Andy. While photographing Andy in front of the park sign, I noted on the post that the sign was in Memory of Irene Fisette, an old and very dear friend and political ally who one day died in her garden. We visited a booth with Golden Retriever Goodies. The woman in the booth looked very familiar, though we had not seen each other in eight years. She looked sad, and Andy spent some time with her. Turns out, she was Nutmegs breeder whose whose son was the 18 year old Bolton High School student who died in an accident. She expressed gratitude for Nutmegs therapy visits to Bolton High and her sons wake. We talked a long time, and I believe that Nutmegs relative Cheyenne is going to become a therapy dog. She misses her beloved Cody, and loves people. Shell be perfect! We visited with many great people, including Jay Moran, Manchesters newly elected Mayor and Joyce Hodgson, Director of Little Theatre of Manchester. I am grateful to all of these folks for their assistance with Andys training. The moments are stored forever in my mind.
