Sadhwani What do you quest for O traveller Mile upon mile You wander Unquenched thirst in Your heart You walk on till You quiver apart Are you a pilgrim or A beggar Walking past the minaret Exhausting the cigarette That blows smoke In your face And Upon your hopes Why do you walk in the hot sun Without anyone Who does not plunder And tear your soul asunder From innocence They plunder And leave carnations crushed Beneath soiled feet Even the love in you Cannot cheat Death, disease or loss The many loves that Went for a loss What was the cause But for fleeting time You walk on and on Bound to this earth A discarnate entity A wanderer for eternity
