A Wet Friday but Nice Weekend (For the Most Part) SPRINGFIELD, - TopicsExpress

A Wet Friday but Nice Weekend (For the Most Part) SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB)- There are a few showers scattered about this morning. It’s damp & muggy with temperatures in the 60′s. During the day today after we get rid of these showers most of the day will be dry with a few sunny breaks. If we see some sizable breaks then temperatures will shoot way up into the 70′s and help fuel the chances for some late day or evening thunderstorms. If we stay mainly cloudy then temperatures struggle once again to reach 70. As a cold front approaches and eventually crosses late tonight and early tomorrow morning, another band of showers with some locally heavy rain and embedded thunder is anticipated. Any showers should end near or just after dawn tomorrow with clearing of the clouds to follow during the mid-day. A piece of energy to our east on Father’s Day makes me a bit nervous. It no longer looks like a “slam dunk” fantastic day. A system to our east, just off shore may throw some cloudiness into western Mass. with even showers across eastern Mass, the Cape and Islands. It’s still looking nice with the brightest skies from Springfield west with more clouds east. Temperatures should reach near 80 with low dew points. Lets hope this holds! Stay tuned! Have a great weekend! Dan Brown
