A Whisper in the Night: A whisper in the wind, A cry in the night, Lord I’m searching, crying, dying, for your guiding light. I screamed for redemption, I cried for the light, I lifted my voice from the dead of night. Oh Lord hear my heart, Father, heed my cry, Do not leave me here to wither and die. Then the whisper came, from the sweet by and by. A voice that made me feel as if I could fly. Child… he said in a voice so dear, Child… you have nothing, nothing to fear. My love never fails, that’s why I choose the nails, I wore a crown of thorns; I bled from my side, So from fear you would not have to hide. I prayed for you through the pain, My blood brings with it the cleansing rain. The Heavens opened up; the rain began to fall, I had nothing to fear, nothing at all. No longer did I bare this blame; no longer did I feel ashamed. I felt his embrace, in life’s rat race. The whisper in the wind, the cry in the night, His voice calling my name, His blood taking my blame. By Misty Miller copyright©2008
