A Word for Today Be focused Now the sons of the prophets who were at Bethel came out to Elisha, and said to him, Do you know that the LORD will take away your master from over you today? And he said, Yes, I know; keep silent! - 2 Kings 2:3 (NKJV) It was time for Gods servant Elijah to be transposed from earth to heaven, and his servant Elisha knew about this, he knew the importance of what was about to happen and he wanted the anointing to be passed on to him, after all, Elijah will not need the anointing in heaven, but Elisha was wise enough to stay focused and faithful to his master in order for the anointing to be passed on to him. Many people around him, (we can even say, they were church members, because the Bible calls them sons of the prophets) tried to get him to shift his focus, they wanted him to major on the minor, a very easy way to lose sight of what God wanted to accomplish in his life. Elisha had to shut them up, he told them time and time again when they came to him to keep silent. We also need to be sensitive to the things of the spirit and not allow minor things or hearsays to make us lose focus and thereby miss out of destiny. Elisha would have missed out of the double portion of the anointing of his master Elijah, if he had been listening to what the sons of the prophets were saying to him. He chose to be focused and be faithful to his master Elijah, and God used him to perform many mighty miracles thereafter. Know that God has a plan and purpose for your life(Jer 29:11) and the enemy will want to distract you, refuse to be distracted and learn to shut up any voice that seems to be causing distractions. You will win! Confession I will not listen to strange voices that want to distract me from attaining unto destiny; I will be focused and faithful in Jesus Name! Halleluyah! Thoughts for Inspiration Get out of the blocks, run your race, stay relaxed. If you run your race, youll win. Channel your energy. Focus. -Carol Lewis
