A Word for the Woods. So often as men of the woods, were in a constant competition. Whos hauled the most wood, who has the biggest timber, who can pull the most cable or cut the most by hand. Some say that a Stil will out cut a Husky, in that Ill need to give a shout out and sayAmen. Or some may post there tattoo trying to state who they are. What makes a man is not how much wood he can cut or haul. It not the size of his saw or the size of his crew. What makes a man is the size of his heart. As a 4th generation logger Ive seen all kinds but one thing I noticed this week was this. I pulled into the unbinding rack with a T800 grossing 88000 and to my left was a 84-85 yellow Chevy single axle grossing 25-26000 fixing to be unloaded. But really what caught my attention was the man slowly down sending from the cab. As his face rounded the door I could see the years of blood, sweat and tears in his face. At that point it wasnt about how much chrome I had or how many horses under the hood. It was a about how much heart That man had. As a preacher of the gospel these words came to my heart..Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up. (James 4:10) As the elderly gentleman stepped out of distance to be unloaded, I couldnt help but wonder how many times he may have wanted to through up his hands and quit. But because of what was in his heart is what determined him to keep on keeping on. Even though you may think your the Bull of the Woods dont mean your the man. What makes a man is whats in his heart. You may be faced with opposition such a physical poblems, financial problem or even spiritual problems. 2 Peter 5:6-7 states Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting All Your Cares Upon Him; for He careth for You. That word humble means to quit thinking its all about you and realize that its about something bigger. Its about realizing that a saviour was crucified on the cross so the you and I could go free. I challenge you today give your heart to Christ if you dont know him. Find you a bible believing, bible preaching church that has fundamentals and convictions that you may grow spiritually......the Sawmill Preacher.
