A bankers crisis made in folly Leaves no person feeling jolly. No-one now can make ends meet For England now I weep Parents trying in despair Their hands are numb and cold and bare, They strive to shoe their childrens feet. For England I still weep Victims pushed to extremes, Not trying to live beyond their means No food to eat, no bed to sleep For England I still weep Power held behind wry smile, Guarded rich with golden pile; A lonely mountain tall and steep, For England I still weep Men from almost every region Once joined a cause to fight for freedom.
