A belated update for last weeks Final Fantasy session Chapter 1: Legacy of the Ancients Drawn by word of an expedition into ancient ruins our heroes Aetas, Menepthah, Kaphwan and Darkun have arrived at the newly opened fissure in the North Coran Mountains. Having acquainted themselves with a scholar named Edric and the luckless bard Cid they strike camp and wait for the go ahead to travel down to the ruins. While waiting they encounter a strange, pale woman threatening the guards preventing her from travelling down to the ruins early (and threatened the guards themselves). Perhaps blessedly, nothing came of the encounter and the camp settled down for the night. As the camp slumbers however they are suddenly invaded by a stampede of mountain denizens likely pursued by one of the horrors released from the fissure below. Now our heroes must fight for survival as all around them descends in to panicked chaos. Why have the sentries not raised a warning? Just who is this pale woman who was so eager to visit the ruins early? Only time will tell. Given that this is a tribute campaign and music is an important part of the FF games (for me at least) each week Ill be linking to a piece of music Im associating with something in the session (ignore the video its just for the music). This weeks music is Without Shadow which Im co-opting as the Pale Womans theme (itll be handy if my players can learn her name) just in case I wasnt unsubtle enough.
