A big Fourth of July tradition is barbeques and picnics. Friends and family gather at parks, playgrounds, in backyards and even beaches to enjoy food and games. Typically, grilled hamburgers and hotdogs are served, along with various sides such as potato salad and corn on the cob. Afterwards, games such as American football and baseball are often played. We asked some of our interns what their favorite Fourth of July foods are and Eric said, “In Hawaii, we like to make kalbi, which is a Hawaiian teriyaki glazed, short ribs.” Jennifer said, “Nothing is more American than apple pie, I like to eat mine with vanilla ice cream.” If you’re feeling adventurous, you can learn how to make your very own kalbi here: bit.ly/1nj2bbJ or apple pie here: bit.ly/1lBaXzd #FOJSG
