A big congratulations goes out to former PMSC member Leo Urlichich (AKA Crazy Leo). The 29 year old Russian-Canadian and co-driver Andrew Roughead of Britain finished the Rally De Portugal in 56th place overall. The Urlichich/Roughead team finished in eighth place in the DMACK Tyres/Fiesta class, in the World Rally Championship event, about 19 minutes behind the class winner, Sander Parn of Estonia and James Morgan of Britain. Leo and Andrew finished the 17 grueling stages in rural Portugal well over an hour behind WRC super star Sebastien Ogier of France. But considering it was Leos very first WRC event in a new car and new series, hes pretty happy with the outcome. He told the DMACK website, This was an unbelievable experience and fantastic to come and start a WRC rally. It was very tough, difficult and a real challenge. We had some problems but it was great to cover all of the stages and really learn more about the car and stages. The DMACK/Fiesta series features 12 teams all driving identical Ford Fiesta R2 cars outfitted with the DMACK rally tires. His next event in the DMACK series will be in Poland June 26-29th with rallies in Finland, Germany and Spain to follow. Leo got hooked on performance rallies when he was a student at Trent University in Peterborough, 2002-2006, and a member of the Peterborough Motor Sports Club. He credits PMSC with introducing him to rally cross and other competitive events. His Fiesta sports a PMSC decal on the left front fender. Leo was the 2011 winner of the Rally of the Tall Pines in Bancroft, ON and took second in the both the 2012 Canadian Rally Championship series and the North American Rally Cup.
