A bit of reverse psychology here....Im filming this winch fell of a main trunk of the flame tree from my perspective up the tree... Weve secured the directional line to the section top and have set up an off-set winch scenario in the lower car parking area utilising the base of the tree you can see directly to the rear of the truck. The line passes through the pulley and the truck is free to drive forwards whilst exerting the required directional pull on the trunk lifting it off the fence, away from the house and over on its hinge.. The fact the timber sticks stand at elevation to the main pull is also a massive advantage.. Joe makes the back cut under tension and chases the wood as the truck drives forward.
