A brief Explanation of the Concept of placing Alegiance to a Spritual Guide. - Muzzaffar Ali The Holy Prophet(salallahu alaihi wasallam) had said Seek an Expert in every field). The history of the Religion of Islam teaches us that the act of pledging ones Alegiance to a Spritual guide is that which is permissable. This is Supported by the pledging of Alegiance by Hazrath Abu bakr Siddiq(radi Allahu anhu)The first Righteous Khalifa of Islam who had been the first man to accept the deen of Islam on the blessed hands of The Holy Prophet Syedina Muhammad Al Mustapha (salallahu alaihi wasallam). This Act of Alegiance had continued throughout the remaining three of the Righteous Khulafa till the present day. The Purpose of Placing Alegiance Islam in its divine sense is about following a religion which is Simple and spreads the Principles of Purity, love and obedience to ones Creator. However, A person may find it difficult to develop these principles and this is what creates the Necessity of seeking the Assistance of a Spritual Guide who will help the Individual in successfully achieving as well as implementing these divine principles in their lives. Duties of a Spritual Guide towards his Student or Disciple and the Principles that have to be practised by the Disciple. The first task of a Spritual Guide is the objective of Purifying the heart of his student by teaching his student the Importance of developing and maintaining a good Character. This would be a character which promotes love, affection, respect and kindness to all of creation. When this is slowly and successfully achieved, The Spritual guide would have a student with a purified heart that is ready to have the principle of love instilled within it. The second task of a Spritual guide is to educate his Student by teaching his student the basis of his religion and love towards his Prophet Muhammad Al Mustapha(salallahu) alaihi wasallam and then love towards his Creator as Allah has stated in the Holy Quraan: Those who claim to be believers, Love the one that is beloved to Allah. This principle is accomplished by teaching and displaying to his student the Character of The Holy Prophet(sallallahu alaihi wasallam). When the Student or Disciple has implemented this Principle in his/her life the Practice, Following and Obedience of prayer will be taught to the student or Disciple. Every religion encourages the Spritual communication between the creation and its Creator and this what creates the Compulsory requirement of Prayer. The last principle to be taught to the disciple is the practice of prayer and constantly reminding the disciple of the Importance of being steadfast on prayer. The intention of the above information is to serve as a guide in educating both young and old as well as reminding all those about what the the meaning of pledging allegiance requires. I do apologise in advance for any offence that may be caused to others with regards to this post but as the Master of Masters Syedina Muhammad Al Mustapha(sallallahu alaihi wasallam) has said Knowledge without teaching is equivalent to a tree without Growth. - Muzzaffar Ali
