A bright sun is rising outside the east window of the nest as a sultry Wednesday begins in the city. Summer is winning the seasonal battle today and part of tomorrow as high heat and high humidity along with high winds rule the weather pattern. Tomorrow evening fall will again make an appearance bringing thunderstorms, rain, and lower temps as the battle for seasonal supremacy continues. It was a great day yesterday. I got to see my PT, OT, and rehab physician at the rehab reunion yesterday. Three former patients spoke about their health malady and how the therapists literally helped them get on their feet again. It was a surprisingly pleasant hour or so. The book discussion was heated last night as we talked about the social and societal change occurring in a small town in Iowa and the challenges that arise as differing cultures clash. I am sorry to say we did not come with a workable recipe for coping with those changes. At lunch today I will meet with my Troost Corridor friends as we network about the ways our own backyard is improving or services that can be provided to those folks needing a helping hand along Troost. The rest of the morning and afternoon can be a time of reading the selection for the book club discussion next month. Tomorrow or Friday I need to start working on the music collection again as a number of albums need to be uploaded and need to get the unused IPod ready for action. I have lambasted Ned Yost enough but I think last night Terry Francona of the Indians who has been in many playoffs and World Series showed what a seasoned manager can do and how lacking the Royals are with Yost down the stretch. I may take in the game, but I think the season is a moot point right now but it has been enjoyable to experience meaningful baseball in September. Well, I will try to make this a workable Wednesday and I hope all my friends are doing the same.
