A brother in Christ went home to be with his Savior this morning. It was only a few months ago that he asked in church to be saved. I remember clearly how during the preaching one Sunday he raised his hand and said I want to accept Jesus and be saved right now. The pastor had been witnessing to him for awhile. He wasnt very old probably late 50s. He came to church after his salvation regularly and happy in his faith. Last night for some unknown reason he had a seizure and his wife took him to the emergency room. He was ok and the doctors released him. This morning on a Sunday his wife Kim found him in the home dead, Dave went home to meet his Saviour.. We will miss you Dave Hollond but we rejoice that you are in heaven rejoicing in the presence of your LORD and Saviour Jesus Christ. When someone says to you let me pray for you. Let me read the bible to you, Let me tell you about Jesus my savior, dont turn that person away. It may be your last opportunity to meet Christ. Oh you say, Im a good person, God will look over the bad things Ive done or said and he will let me into heaven. Surely God is not that mean that he will cast me into hell. Who have I murder, what terrible crime have I committed, Im no pervert. You see what gets you into heaven is not what good you have tried to do but your confession that you are a sinner and that you need a savior. Jesus says if you confess your sin and call on Him to save you that He will. The wages of sin is death (eternal separation from God) BUT the GIFT of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ.(Romans 6:23) If it is a gift then why do you need the sacraments, what good is baptism, why do you think you need to do good things. It is a gift. You wouldnt expect me to pay for a gift you were willing to give me. Neither does God. He says believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved. It is a gift. Thank you Janice Mckenzie for warning those you love that Jesus is the only way to heaven. Im sorry for those that have kicked you out of their lives just like the Jews kicked Jesus and hated Him for preaching salvation.
