A budget that provide many benefits to the public was presented: MP R Duminda Silva - Colombo District MP R. Duminda Silva said that the Government led by President Mahinda Rajapaksa was able to present a budget that was a relief to the people. The MP said so while participating at a function held at Meethotamulla in Kolonnawa. This function was held for distributing school exercise books for the children of low income families in areas including Metotamulla in the Kolonnawa electorate. It was significant that on this occasion in coincidence with the programme implemented according to a concept of Colombo District MP R. Duminda Silva, school exercise books were distributed to 1500 children. A large number of people including SLFP Colombo Central organizer Deputy Minister Faizer Mustapa and artiste Arjuna Kamalanath participated in the function. Addressing the function Deputy Minister Faizer Mustaapa said that MP R. Duminda Silva was a leader dedicated for the needs of the poor people. Actor Arjuna Kamalanath addressing the gathering at the function stated that they are gathered around the MP because he is a leader dedicated to work for the betterment of the public. Expressing his views subsequently Colombo District MP R. Duminda Silva said that President Mahinda Rajapaksa had presented this time a budget that brought relief to the people. ජනතාවට සහනදායී අයවැයක් ඉදිරිපත් කිරීමට ජනාධිපති මහින්ද රාජපක්ෂ මහතා ප‍්‍රමුඛ ආණ්ඩුවට හැකිවූ බව කොළඹ දිස්ත‍්‍රික් පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත‍්‍රී ආර්. දුමින්ද සිල්වා ප‍්‍රකාශ කළා. මන්ත‍්‍රීවරයා මෙම අදහස් පළ කළේ කොළොන්නාව - මීතොටමුල්ල ප‍්‍රදේශයේ පැවති උත්සවයකට එක්වෙමින්. කොළොන්නාව මැතිවරණ කොට්ඨාශයේ මීතොටමුල්ල ඇතුලූ ප‍්‍රදේශවල අඩු ආදායම්ලාභී පවුල්වල දරු දැරියන් සඳහා පාසල් අභ්‍යාස පොත් බෙදාදීම වෙනුවෙන් මෙම උත්සවය පැවැත්වුණා. කොළඹ දිස්ත‍්‍රික් පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත‍්‍රී ආර්. දුමින්ද සිල්වාගේ සංකල්පයක් මත ක‍්‍රියාත්මක සිසු සවිය වැඩසටහනට සමගාමීව මෙහිදී දරු දැරියන් 1500 කට අභ්‍යාස පොත් බෙදාදීම විශේෂත්වයක්. මෙම උත්සවයට ශ‍්‍රී ලංකා නිදහස් පක්ෂයේ මැද කොළඹ සංවිධායක නියෝජ්‍ය අමාත්‍ය ෆයිසර් මුස්තාපා සහ රංගන ශිල්පී අර්ජුන කමලනාත් ඇතුලූ විශාල පිරිසක් එක්වුණා. උත්සවය ඇමතූ නියෝජ්‍ය අමාත්‍ය ෆයිසර් මුස්තාපා කියා සිටියේ පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත‍්‍රී ආර්. දුමින්ද සිල්වා දුප්පත් ජනතාවගේ අවශ්‍යතා වෙනුවෙන් කැපවුණු නායකයෙකු බවයි. උත්සව සභාව ඇමතූ රංගන ශිල්පී අර්ජුන කමලනාත් කියා සිටියේ කලාකරුවන් යනු රටේ පෙර ගමන්කරුවන් බවයි. ඒ නිසා ආර්. දුමින්ද සිල්වා මන්ත‍්‍රීවරයා වටා රොක් වී ඔහුගේ දෑත් ශක්තිමත් කිරීම සඳහා එක්වූ බවයි අර්ජුන කමලනාත් ප‍්‍රකාශ කළේ. අනතුරුව අදහස් දක්වමින් කොළඹ දිස්ත‍්‍රික් පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත‍්‍රී ආර්. දුමින්ද සිල්වා ප‍්‍රකාශ කළේ ජනාධිපති මහින්ද රාජපක්ෂ මහතා මෙවර ජනතාවට සහනදායී අයවැයක් ඉදිරිපත් කර ඇති බවයි.
