A bunch of years ago, I went to some lame concert at a sushi place... and as I was leaving early drenched in boredom, on my way to the car; I heard someone play in the style of Ani Di Franco with an acustic guitar and an incredibly powerfull voice; it was so powerfull it stopped me on my tracks; went into this little bar and checked it out; my ear inmediatelly thought Im not a fan of this type of music but as a musician I appreciate it when someone is doing a great job. Long story short turns out this artist now has a band, a sort of bluegrass thing; and they Kick ass!! ImI. The name of that artist is Mercedes and is the best Guatemalan female vocalist Ive heard; when Gaby Moreno was looking for a opening act for her homecoming gig in Antigua she found out about this great talent and made the right choice!! Of picking this world-class genuinely talented act! Highly recommended for anyone to check them out, when you visit antigua! :D
