A cautionary tale - and some advice: Today, for the first time - TopicsExpress

A cautionary tale - and some advice: Today, for the first time ever, I deleted a Facebook friend that hadnt been downright abusive towards me. Shes a daily Fville player; the kind that helps out & sends gifts out most days, so it was done with a heavy heart. The problem? It started when she sent a neighbor request which I accepted. She showed up as one of my neighbors, but I wasnt showing as one of hers, and the requests kept coming. She has over 8000 Facebook friends, so I suspected that she was at her neighbor limit & messaged her to ask her to check. The message was ignored (not even opened), so I posted the same request on her wall - I got no response; and still the requests kept coming. I unfriended her and sent a message asking her to send me a FR in the hope that it would sort out the glitch - another unopened message, followed by another wall post which was again ignored, so i sent our a request and re-friended her. I did this 3 or 4 times. I also deleted her as a Fville neighbor many times & then sent neighbor requests to her - which were obviously accepted, because shed show up as a neighbor again a day or later. Still the requests kept coming (anywhere between 8-16 a day). It was seriously clogging up my giftbox, so I sent her a message assuring her that I was accepting her requests & trying to get the glitch sorted, asking if she could please limit the requests to 1 or 2 a day - another unopened message. 2 days later, I opened my giftbox to find that out of my 100 allocation, no less than 24 had been taken up by neighbor requests from this lady. Daily players that help out & gift are hard to find, and Ive never unfriended one before (this time, its permanent). I feel sad to do it, but also relieved that I wont be getting the daily harassment anymore. Please remember that its not necessary to be neighbors with another player in order to play well together (most of the players that I appreciate most arent actually neighbors); and treat your Farmville friends with respect. We all like receiving help, but we need to remember that its a 2-way street. Bombarding another player to sort out a problem that youre not willing to meet halfway on will (probably) eventually get the same result.
