A change of scenery in the mountains today. The air was crisp and cool and smelt of pine. Cisco felt good and I think he enjoyed the ride as much as I did. In the beginning on the road to the forest Cisco got bored and a bit rammy. I took him up the side hill and weaved through the sage brush to give him something to look at and do. I utilized the moment to hone in on seat cues and softness. Using mostly my seat and a lift of a rein we turned and circle around the brush and lone baby pines. It took some convincing that the water hole wasnt a deep abyss this may or may not swallow him ( in these water/mud moments I always play the scene in The Never Ending Story where the white horse gets swallowed by the quick sand. Now I know you havent seen that movie Cisco, I promise its all good). What a perfect day for a mountain ride and some mustang training.
