A child and a dog go together like a hand in a glove. This is behind the clinic after office hours tonite with one of my grandsons. As I took him home we passed a neighbor. They bought a car from my dad. Said Coy. Yup I replied he sold a few to other clients of mine. Those folks are clients? He queried. yes, theres a story in my book about them and their dog. Would you like me to read it to you. I Asked as we pulled in to his driveway to deliver him home. No, Im good. came the reply. I ignored his response as I parked in his driveway. its just a short story. Ill read it to you then you can go in. As I read the two paragraphs which I have read and re read a thousand times before delivering it to the printers, I got a little emotional and my voice skipped a little as I read through, pausing once for a second or two to regain my composure. My grandson recognized that and listened politely and with good intent. When I finished he smiled broadly and said with sincerity Thats a good story Geandpa. Then he went inside to his family. My closing days in New York are without compare.
