A comment for the tenth of a percent of the tenth of a percent of people who hold any sort of interest in thinking about the 60s tv show The Prisoner. One reason I think that Number One is not simply Us meaning our inner selves is that McGhoohan admitted he had no idea how to end the series, and yet he had already done Schizoid Man. Which is to say he had already introduced that basic idea, so adding it as an ending for such a prolific script writer should not have been a very difficult task. We also know that he was a very religious person. Seems to me that if he had come to a point where he wanted to introduce the idea that I posited: Our universal conversation about what is or isnt God(s) male and female God(s), is there such a thing, and so on. That would be a damn near impossible concept to get across. Most certainly it would have been very difficult to get across on that show, and at that time. So he must have just kind of winged it then covered his butt by claiming it was an allegory, when up to that point it had mostly been action and drama. Be seeing you.
