A common behavior problem that our group classes address is dogs jumping on people. In this video eight, along with the other dogs in todays level one obedience class, are practicing sitting politely as they are greeted by strangers. If Ace can offer a sit and not jump up he will be given a food report. If he can continue to sit still he will be petted. If he loses his cool he will no longer be allowed to interact with the new person. In just a few short minutes you will see a change his behavior in order to accomplish what he wants. Teaching your dog to sit politely for padding is a very important skill, but one that is often ruined by random people who interact with you and your dog. This is why bringing your dog into a controlled setting like one of our group classes is so very important in order to teach solid behavior.
