A commoners comment on the Sakib conundrum. Event 1: Sakib - TopicsExpress

A commoners comment on the Sakib conundrum. Event 1: Sakib wanted to play in Caribbean league. objectively, there is nothing wrong with that. Event 2: Sakib asked Akram Khan (Head of Cricket Operations, BCB) for a No Objection Certificate and Akram Khan said he is going to send it over. Event 3: Sakib takes a flight to Caribbean, with assurance from BCB that an NOC is on the way. Event 4: BCB Directors and Chairman and other directors hear now that Sakib is out of the country and they ask Sakib to come back. Event 5: Sakib is pissed, shouts at the coach, and threats to quit playing for Bangladesh. Event 6: Sakib returns to Bangladesh, and expected to get punished for disciplinary reasons. Questions on the series of events. 1. How did Akram Khan as the operation head lets a player play in a foreign league without authorizing paperworks? 2. What was BCB doing when Akram Khan unilaterally made this decision and gave the assurance of NOC? 3. Why would Sakib, who is already in trouble for beating people up in the gallary, NOT ensure that he has an NOC in hand before he reaches Caribbean? Is it because of overwhelming assurance from Akram Khan, or limitless belief on self-importance? May be he was thinking his absolute importance in BD team is waves him from abiding to basic regulations. Commoners comment: 1. BCB is a dysfunctional organization with unprofessional and incompetent ex-cricketers and politicians. Hire professional administrators with experience, not essentially in cricket, but in organizational administration. 2. BCB doesnt keep a track on whats happening with the players when there is not official tournaments or camps. It only bothers to intervene when something goes wrong. 3. BCB cant expect that when a) Sakib was promised of a NOC and b) Sakib was verbally permitted by Akram Khan, Sakib would be happy about coming back to Dhaka without being annoyed and pissed. Such unprofessional behavior of BCB is bound to ignite aggressive reaction from Sakib. 4. BCB, to me, lost its credibility long time back. This is just a continuation of its unprofessional mockeries. 5. I think, Sakib is a bit too full of himself these days. His behavior infront of camera, his method of handling eve teasers and now this. It is possible, that he thinks his talent and performance enables him to do things others players would never dream to do, break rules on a frequent basis. His stardom would run out the moment his form drops, the only thing that remains at that time is his reputation. And if he continues his shenanigans this way, that reputation aint serving him in his bad times. Someone should make him understand this. Thats what I have to say about that.
