A community member is looking for ideas: Looking for a few ideas....I care for my 95 yr old Mom. Prior to a week ago, she was independent within her home except for my sister and I providing companionship and supper and, of course, Wheel.of Fortune watching. She was hospitalized last week, so am spending most of my time here to get her more independent. She seems to be about 80%. So right now it seems that she needs help with breakfast and supper. She is very poor but I have not pursued the whole Medicaid thing for her yet. 1. In three weeks Im having a second knee replacement. What would be your suggestions for me getting her some support during that time......hopefully about 3-4,weeks. Someone else does her cleaning and washing.....its really meal prep and some companionship. 2. Right now she uses a flashlight that she lays on her 4 wheeled walker to go to the bathroom at night. What kind of devices are out there that could help her turn on a lamp from her bed? Does the Clapper still exist? Or a mount for the flashlight? Thanks!
