A community member seeks advice! I have taken care of my parents for the last 20 yrs. my dad passed 12 yrs ago but miss him terribly. My mom passed last October at home in my arms. She was 84, COPD, diabetic, legally blind, thickened fluids from a stroke. 24/7, the whole 9 yards of care. Weighing about 200 pds the strength was always there for me to lift and move her until she was bedridden in her last month. My life was my mom and my dog, unfortunately when hospice said my mom had about a month, my dog was diagnosed with mast cell cancer(aggressive) and had 2 months if I was lucky. October 8 I lost my mom...the day before Thanksgiving the cancer hit my babys stomach and I had to put her down, both passed in my arms. I have been to counseling, grieving, and even partial hospital hospitalization. I am so numb, lost, dont want to leave the house as when I come back its in my face that I am not greeted by a wagging tail and my moms smile. I have been diagnosed PTSD and Emptiness syndrome. Im on meds, I just feel I will never be the same. I am physically and mentally wiped out, drained and done. Is there anyone else out there like this? Im broke and cant handle the thought of being amongst the outside. What else is there for me to do? Any ideas please.
