A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to restrict traffic for milling and paving along US 641 in southern Marshall County starting Saturday, September 14, 2013. This work zone along US 641 runs from the Marshall-Calloway County Line at mile point 0.0, extending northward to the KY 402 Intersection at mile point 1.442. Milling is expected on Saturday, with paving to follow next week. Motorists should use caution where equipment, flaggers, and construction personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow. This milling and paving work along US 641 is expected to take 4 or 5 days to complete, weather permitting. Jim Smith Contracting is the prime contractor on this $430,034 highway improvement project.
