A convicted robber who had almost £5,000 in his car when he was arrested in London has had the cash seized. Nathan Bell, of Portland Grove, London, was originally ordered to pay £6,925 in 2011 after being convicted of a robbery in Cambridge, He only had £220 available at the time, so the remaining £6,705 remained on his file. When he was arrested by the Met in January on suspicion of another robbery, officers discovered £4,930 in his Mercedes. He claimed it was from a win at a bookmakers. While Bell was not charged with any new offences, a Cambridgeshire Constabulary financial investigator made an application to revisit the confiscation order and an uplift order was granted for the £4,930.
